VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE EXPERT

Concours
d’Elegance

The oldest Concours d'Elegance of Cars on the World with a continuous history
1929 – till today
The most important in Europe
The most prestigious Concours d'Elegance in Italy

My first participation it this concours d’Elegance was as a visitor in 2003. From that moment I was there regularly. Each time I am again impressed by the amazing variety of classic cars and prototypes presented there. The atmosphere of a small Italian town on the shore of incredible lake Como, all of charming Italian style, Italian architecture, Italian cuisine, Italian summer weather, ii so perfectly matches the classic cars, where Italian design is one of the best on the word, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari .... You can not imagine a better place to admire vintage cars as in an Italian ambiance. It is really an exceptional event among all concourses d'Elegance.

In the 2004 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este I presented my best car ever a 1933 Alfa Rome 6C1750 Grand Sport Touring spider a beautiful red Vintage Car.

In 2013 I presented a Hispano Suiza H6B cabrioletvde Ville.

In 2022 I was honored to be a Judge in this prestigious event, judging a variety of pre-war car classes .I was lucky to Judge really amazing cars. The best of which won this year Best of Show it was the 1937 Bugatti 57S roadster by Vanvooren. After having travelled the world and having been equipped with an experimental Buick engine while owned by a GM executive this car is now mated again with its original Bugatti 8 cylinder engine and has been restored to the original specification. It now looks as it left the Vanvooren coachworks in 1937.

For me the most impressive post-war car was the 1956 Zagato bodied Ferrari 250 GTBerlinetta
The coppa d’Oro, which is the prize selected by the public went to the 1979 built Aston Martin Bulldog

Designed by British designer William Towns and apparently a favourite of the younger generations.
